From the above market study it is estimated that the UK market for recycled textiles is approximately 62k tonnes per annum, of which just three main application areas consume 53k tonnes per annum.

The largest volume application in the UK is for mattress/upholstery products with 66% of all recycled material going into this market. The values of recycled textiles for these traditional markets, at processor selling prices, range from 600 GBP to 1,100 GBP per tonne.

Parisma Export works in conjunction with the local authorities to provide an efficient and reliable service in the provision of clothing banks, clothing collections, and the emptying of clothing banks.

Our service includes: Supply of safe and secure clothing banks to any location in the Channel Islands. Regular and reliable collection of clothing from banks at recycling points as needed. Maintain the clothing bank to the highest standard, as needed. The bank delivery, maintenance, and clothing collection service is FREE OF CHARGE.

Parisma Export reuses and recycles virtually every kind of textile, from t-shirts to school uniforms, shoes, trainers, football kits, hats, belts, jackets, clean underwear, bras, curtains, sheets, blankets, duvets and curtains.

The list is endless. Each item is checked by hand and those that are of sufficient quality are separated by garment and material type, baled together and exported to developing countries overseas. There, the clothes and shoes are distributed to local markets where stallholders sell the clothes to the surrounding communities.

Within the Channel Islands there is a new mandate and recycling innovation with regards to the recycling of household waste, textile and other recycling products.

It is not yet determined how many tonnes of recyclable textiles ended up in the incinerator in the Channel Islands, Parisma Export is hoping to remove textile waste away from landfill while ensuring a more environmentally friendly future for old sheets, shoes, used clothes, house hold rummage, towels and other textiles.

Parisma Export is more than a recycling business. It addresses and finds solutions for a number of environmental issues by:

- Reducing land fill; helping to build businesses in under developed countries, reduces the waste of water, provides affordable clothing to third world countries at an affordable price, assists in the reduction of CO2 omissions, sustaining jobs in Jersey, Channel Islands, creates jobs for business overseas, better clothing in overseas communities, exported clothing helps to improve the Jerseys balance of trade, the use of textile banks allows the public to recycle items that would otherwise be have to be sent to the landfill.
